Alekos Papadopoulos


Few words

With studies in journalism and music (E.K.E.S., New Conservatory of Thessaloniki, Contemporary Conservatory of Thessaloniki, American Institute of Music Vienna), he lives and works as a researcher, producer, and music teacher. In 2006 he started his professional involvement with Argentinian tango, founding the Music Workshop & Tango Room school in Thessaloniki, as well as the tango orchestra Locos de Atar, with which he has participated in dozens of concerts, performances-choreographies, and tango recordings.

As an artistic/dance couple with Natasha Rouvola they teach Argentinian tango based on the Tango Room.

He has worked as music editor with Helexpo’s Exposed magazine in Thessaloniki , and has also written books (10) on music education. He is a member of the artistic committee of the Open Jazz Festival of the Municipality of Thessaloniki.

In his professional career, apart from his personal musical works, he has been fortunate to work with great musicians from Greece and abroad who have defined his artistic and creative career. He participated in many recordings as a performer and composer in film, television, theatre and various musical groups. Also, in 2016, his personal album “Krustomania” was released, which includes tango pieces recorded by Locos de Atar.
