Panagiotis Kountouris

A few words

Panagiotis Kountouris was born in Thessaloniki. He graduated from the Department of Business Administration of the University of Macedonia, the Department of Marketing and Advertising of the Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki and holds a Master’s degree from the Department of Journalism and Media of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki with a major in Cultural Management and Communication.

He studied music at the Conservatory “Philippos Nakas” (Organ-Keyboards) and at the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki (Percussion and Advanced Theory). He holds the “Grade 4” Diploma of the Yamaha Music Foundation. He has attended performance seminars for the Electone (electric instrument) with important YMF teachers, including Mr. Hojo, Ikoma, Owoda, Eliot, Marroti, Donon, as well as piano seminars with M. Newman, G. Hadjinikos and N. Ben-Or.

He has performed in solo recitals and concerts in various Greek cities and has collaborated with many artists. He was a founding member of the Vocal Quartet “The Performers Quartet” which he accompanied in Electone, while he also edited its arrangements. He collaborated with the “Thessaloniki Choir” – of which he was a member – in various productions, accompanying Electone (musicals at Aegli, tangos, Gala Strauss, Thessaloniki Concert Hall) and as a soloist of a church organ.

He worked as the Administrative Director of the Filippos Nakas Conservatory in Thessaloniki from 1996 to 2001. Since March 2001 he has been working at the Thessaloniki Concert Hall as Head of Production, while since June 2008 he has held the position of Head of Artistic Planning at the same institution.
