A violin and a ney. Two instruments with a continuous sound and improvisational tempo, representatives of two different music worlds. On the one hand, the violin, which has been leading music traditions in Greece and on the other hand, the ney, representing the ottoman music tradition, are seeking common roots by looking back in history.
Makis Baklatzis in the violin and Andriana Achitzanova in her ney are taking us back in time. Beginning with compositions of Greek, Armenian and Turkish artists who acted in ottoman times, they move on to traditional tunes of today bringing back sounds, scents, memories and feelings in an imaginary line where the limits of old and new all but clear.
