The music group “Banda Tetoya” pre-existed its name, since 2005. Six years later, the pun ‘panta tetoia’ (a wish meaning all the best) becomes the reason for its name.
The composition of the orchestra is shaped according to the requirements of each occasion, while at the same time, the same applies to the repertoire it performs (Thrace, Macedonia, Central Asia, Asia Minor, Islands, the rest of mainland Greece).
The musicians of the group, in addition to the initial stimuli for their involvement with a musical instrument, maintained their contact with music and dance through education, either as students of music schools or as students of universities of applied sciences (department of folk and traditional music) related to the subject.
The presence of the orchestra in cultural events is in parallel with that of the various associations (cultural, educational, etc.) and their activities in ‘tradition’. Participating in performances in dance sections both at the national and international level, but also enriching other cultural events and activities of “cultural and educational” groups.
