Chimerinoi Kolimvites are presenting a comprehensive performance in COSMOPOLIS, with songs from their 40-year presence in the music stage with eight albums and other unpublished songs.
Argyris Bakirtzis, lead composer, lyricist and singer of the band has been living in Kavala since 1975, a thing that has influenced his inspiration in lyrics. Many of his songs, as well as songs of his close friend, the late Stavros Karmaniolas from Kazaviti in Thassos, refer to Kavala and that is what will serve as the core of the concert of Chimerinoi Kolimvites.
It is worth mentioning that the very first live appearance of the band took place in 1981, in the Great Club (Megali Leschi) in Kavala and during that year they released their first album and that is what gives this performance an anniversary tone.
Well-known for their highly successful live performances and their big fans, Chimerinoi Kolimvites are proposing a different, sui generic concert that will be unforgettable to all those attending.
The local music forces that will be accompanying them are Tota Evlavi, Michalis Preponis with his saxophone, and Kostas Koutsoupakis with his trumpet. The melodious, retired firefighter Dimosthenis Sioulas, and possibly other friends as well, will support their chorus which is open to everyone, whether sweet-voiced or not. It is also noteworthy that a chorister named Giannis Mougos has participated in many of their albums.
