Kavala Tango Days will take place from November 2 to 5, 2023 as a collaboration between Cosmopolis Festival and dance club Kavalatino . For 4 days and nights the city will dance to the rhythms of Argentinian Tango! The building of Great Club will host a series of events featuring Tango music and dance.
Concerts, dance nights (milongas), tango lessons for beginners and advanced dancers and outdoor events in the centre of the city are some of the activities in which we will have the opportunity to participate during the four days.
Among the invited dancers who will teach and present shows, the world-famous maestros Sebastian Jimenez (Argentina) with Maria Belén Gianchello, Gabriel Marino (Argentina) with Vasia Thanopoulou (Greece) who have been excelling in Athens in recent years and the unique Lucas Gauto with Naina Gerasopoulou.
Invited tango orchestra, the excellent TANGartO Quintet will perform the award-winning original compositions of the “Tango moments: From yesterday to today” , as well as classic masterpieces of the tango repertoire. Every night after 22.00, the baton will be taken by the Tango DJs Andjela Djiki Rictic (Serbia), Kostas Doukas and Stamatis Katharopoulos will take the stage and their selections will excite dancers of all ages and levels!
